It’s a tangle nightmare where split ends abound because I am always trying to either make my hair straight with hair straighteners or to make it curly with a curling iron. The sad part is that neither seem to work very well on my hair.

It was my mum who ended all my hair care woes when she bought me some large rollers for Christmas. I had never used hot rollers before and was pleasantly surprised by the results – bouncy curls that looked like a salon job, but were simple enough for me to achieve at home. I did need a bit of frizz control, as my hair was in a bad state after years of reckless styling, but a trim and a hair mask later and everything is looking good!

My advice for those of us who live in the middle of curls and straight hair – give the curling iron and straightener a miss and try some hot rollers for a change!

**There’s a sprinkling of about 12 blogs on our site that are my friends and family’s experiences with hot rollers. I wanted to find out what their thoughts were about the particular hot rollers they’ve been using, or just started using.

I’ve always had dead straight hair, not one kink anywhere to be seen & doubly unfortunately for me (I really like, and WANT wavy bouncy curls) is I have a total impatience when it comes to standing around curling my hair with my hot iron (I do like it from time to time)…………………………but now I found my hot rollers I have so much more time so I can start getting ready for my evening out much closer to walking out the door time! Always a bonus…..

So far, I’ve found the best thing to do is shower, brush my hair, then straight away put in my hot rollers for beautiful curl definition (my hair’s not wet cause I’ve usually washed my hair earlier that day) Then I do my makeup & get dressed. By the time that’s all done my hot rollers have cooled. Out they come and a little tip- try not to brush your hair again- you want your curls to stay nice and bouncy. If you feel you really have to- run your fingers through your hair instead of combing.

Then Wa-La- wavy hair ready to hit the town……
