My hair is naturally a little bit wavy, but lacks curl definition. This is ok most of the time, but when there is somewhere I am going to that I really want to look fabulous for, a first date, a big business meeting, then I find that the ‘beach babe’ hair that I have doesn’t fit the bill.

I have found that the best thing for my hair has been using small size rollers after a good hair mask for frizz control just in the ends and mid section of my hair. I don’t have a problem with volume at the roots, so putting small hot rollers in the ends gives me a great natural look with curl definition that looks polished, rather than bed hair curls which can be great for some occasions, but not when you want to look professional. The small size rollers give a subtlety to my hairstyle without the over the top volume that can sometimes come from using loads of big rollers – which is fine for a theme party, but better not worn to work!

**There’s a sprinkling of about 12 blogs on our site that are my friends and family’s experiences with hot rollers. I wanted to find out what their thoughts were about the particular hot rollers they’ve been using, or just started using.

I** am in the no-man’s-land of slightly wavy hair – not straight and not curly. It’s a tangle nightmare where split ends abound because I am always trying to either make my hair straight with hair straighteners or to make it curly with a curling iron. The sad part is that neither seem to work very well on my hair.

It was my mum who ended all my hair care woes when she bought me some large rollers for Christmas. I had never used hot rollers before and was pleasantly surprised by the results – bouncy curls that looked like a salon job, but were simple enough for me to achieve at home. I did need a bit of frizz control, as my hair was in a bad state after years of reckless styling, but a trim and a hair mask later and everything is looking good!

My advice for those of us who live in the middle of curls and straight hair – give the curling iron and straightener a miss and try some hot rollers for a change!
